Open Insights and know in 30 seconds if the week is on track.

The Dashboard is the new default page when you open Insights. It always shows this week compared to last week automatically. No date range to configure, no report to run.

Five cards at the top give you the pulse: tasks completed, time logged, active blockers, overdue tasks, and goals on track. Each one shows the delta from last week so you can see direction, not just a number.

Below that is a live panel showing every team member, their current status, and the task they have a timer running on right now. It refreshes every 30 seconds and pauses when you switch tabs so it is not running in the background for nothing.

The rest of the page shows what is coming up in the next seven days, any active goals with low progress and a deadline approaching, and tasks that have been stuck in progress for three or more days with no activity.

Presence data, without timesheets.

The Attendance page shows each team member against each day in the selected period. Every cell shows how many hours that person was online. The data comes entirely from status history, so it reflects what actually happened rather than what someone remembered to log.

Click a cell to see the full breakdown for that day: Online, Break, and Meeting segments laid out as a timeline with exact times. Click a name to see that person's pattern across the whole period, with daily stacked bars, first in and last out times, and totals for the period.

For longer date ranges the view shifts to week columns so the table stays readable. Week cells are not clickable since a week has no single timeline, but the person view shows the full detail underneath.

A note at the top of the page makes clear this is based on self-reported status, not a verified time clock.

Task distribution across the team, at a glance.

The Workload page gives every team member a signal based on how many open tasks they have and how many hours of estimated work remain: Overloaded, Busy, Balanced, or Light. The thresholds are straightforward. More than 15 open tasks or more than 40 hours of estimated work remaining is Overloaded. Eight to 15 tasks or 20 to 40 hours is Busy. One to seven tasks is Balanced. Nothing assigned is Light.

Each member row shows four numbers: open tasks, in progress, due this week, and overdue. Click the row to expand the full list of their open tasks, sorted by status and due date, with priority, estimated time, and a direct link to each task.

A summary at the top tells you how many people have nothing assigned and how many are over capacity, so you do not have to scan the whole list to find the problem.

Workload always reflects the current state. There is no date range because open tasks are a present-tense question, not a historical one. A refresh button lets you pull fresh data any time without reloading the page.

Is work getting done, and where is it stalling?

The Tasks page answers the questions that matter most about task health across the selected period. How many tasks were completed? How many were created? Is the backlog growing or shrinking? Which projects are moving and which are stuck?

At the top, three cards give you the summary: tasks completed with a delta versus the prior period, tasks created with the same comparison, and the completion rate as a percentage of tasks created that were completed. If the team is completing faster than it is creating, the rate can exceed 100%, which is a real and healthy reading.

Below that, a bar chart shows completions by day across the period so you can see whether the team ships steadily or in bursts. Then a project breakdown shows each project's completion rate as a bar with total and completed counts, and an overdue count if any tasks are past their due date.

Overdue drift lists every task that is three or more days past its due date, sorted by most overdue first, with a direct link to the task.

In shared workspaces, a final section shows completions by person for the period, framed neutrally and not as a ranking.

Time logged, broken down every way that matters.

The Time page shows how time is being spent across the selected period without anyone having to submit a timesheet. It pulls directly from timer data, so it reflects what was actually tracked.

Total time logged for the period is shown at the top. Below that, a bar chart breaks it down by day so you can see whether time is distributed evenly or concentrated on specific days.

In shared workspaces, a by-person section shows each team member's total for the period as a bar, expandable to see which tasks their time went into and how much went to each one. This is the direct answer to the question ClickUp cannot answer without a manual timesheet: what did this person actually work on this week?

A top tasks section lists the ten tasks with the most time logged in the period. And at the bottom, untracked work surfaces tasks that were marked done but had no timer ever started on them, so you can see where effort happened but was not recorded.

Know what someone is on without sending a message.

Hover over any team member's name in the task activity feed and a focus card appears showing exactly what they are doing right now. If they have a timer running, you see the task name and a live counter ticking up the elapsed time. If not, you see when they were last active.

Below the active task, the card shows how many tasks they have in progress and how many are due today, giving you a quick sense of their current load before you assign something new or ask for an update.

The card uses a portal so it never gets clipped inside the scrollable activity feed. Move your cursor into the card to keep it open and read it fully. It closes when you move away.

The Insights sidebar has been reorganised. The old structure had eleven pages, most of them empty placeholders. The new structure has seven focused pages grouped into three sections.

Dashboard is now the default landing page. People groups Attendance, Workload, and Engagement. Work groups Tasks and Time. Workspace keeps the Audit log.

Placeholder pages for Goals, Notes, Performance, Availability, Activity, and Growth have been removed from the navigation. The underlying routes still exist but are no longer surfaced.

Presence, without asking around.

Every avatar in Focyn now shows a small status dot. Set yourself to Online, Offline, On Break, or In a Meeting from your profile picture, and your team sees it update live wherever your avatar shows up: Team Pulse, task assignees, chat, and more.

Starting a timer on a calendar event automatically switches you to In a Meeting, and switches you back the moment you stop it, so you never have to remember to update it by hand.

Status is set per workspace. You can be Online in one workspace and Offline in another, since they are separate contexts.

A batch of chat and upload fixes, most of them things that were quietly not working rather than obviously broken.

Images you send now reach everyone. When you sent a message with an image, the message went out immediately but the image was still uploading. Everyone else received the text and never got the image until they reloaded the page. Attachments now arrive on their own, in channels, direct messages, threads, and task comments.

Your own images appear the moment you send. Previously the upload finished, then the image had to be fetched back before you could see it. Your image now shows instantly while it uploads in the background.

Uploading several files shows one progress card. Sending three images used to show the progress card restarting three times with no way to tell how far along you were. It is now a single card with a running count, and if one file fails the others are not lost.

Messages no longer get marked as read behind a closed panel. If you had opened a conversation earlier and closed the chat panel, new messages arriving were being marked as read without you ever seeing them. The badge would appear and then vanish on its own. Chat now only marks messages read when the conversation is actually on screen and the window is in focus.

Sending feels immediate. Your name now appears correctly from the first moment instead of showing a placeholder, and the brief grey state on messages being sent has been removed.

Smaller fixes. The emoji picker no longer gets clipped when you react to a message near the bottom. Adding a reaction, editing a message, or a late-arriving image no longer pushes content out of view. Clicking the Channels or Direct tab now takes you back to that list.

Access to one project, without the guesswork.

If you have access to a specific project but not its parent folder, that folder now shows up in your sidebar just like any other, with only the project you can see inside it. Click into it and you get a clean, focused view instead of a dead end.

This makes it much easier to onboard someone into exactly one piece of a larger client or workspace, without extra folders floating around out of context.

We also fixed a bug where, in some cases, a person with access to a project could not actually see it because of how that access was checked behind the scenes.

See exactly what's on your plate, and what your team can act on

When you hover over a teammate on the Today page, the small card shows what they're working on right now. It used to only count tasks assigned to them, which quietly missed a real category of work: reviews.

Two new sections now appear on the card when relevant:

• Waiting for review shows tasks other people are waiting on this person to review, with their own tracked review time and how many reviews are overdue
• Review requested shows tasks this person sent for review that are still waiting, with the time they put into them and any that are past their due date

Both surface exactly what would otherwise stay invisible. A reviewer with a backlog of reviews looks empty on their main counts but shows the queue right below. An assignee who sent work for review sees their production time isn't lost just because the task is now in someone else's court.

Main counts got sharper too

Tasks sitting in review no longer inflate the assignee's Overdue count. They did their part. If a task is past due while sitting in review, that's the reviewer's responsibility to move it forward, not the assignee's.

Same task, same review flow, but now every count on every card describes one clear thing: what can this person actually act on right now.

Tasks that come back on their own

Some work never really ends. Weekly team syncs, monthly invoicing, daily standups, quarterly reviews. Focyn can now handle all of them automatically.

Set any task to repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly from the date picker. When you mark it done, a fresh instance appears with the next due date already set. Same title, same assignee, same reviewer, same estimate. Subtasks come along too, all reset to open and ready to work through again.

Subtask due dates advance by the same interval as the parent, so if a subtask was due the day before its parent, the new instance keeps that relative timing.

If the same recurring task somehow gets marked done twice, Focyn won't create duplicates. It checks the series first and only creates a new instance if none is already open.

This Weekend actually means this weekend

Small but annoying: if you had the "Skip non-working days" toggle on and clicked "This Weekend" as a quick date option, Focyn would shift the date to the following Monday. Which is exactly not what you meant.

Now the "This Weekend" and "Next Weekend" presets automatically disable the skip-weekends toggle when you pick them. The date lands on Saturday like it should.

Chat unread counts were failing silently for some people. Badges showed nothing while messages were genuinely waiting, and the only way to see them was a full page refresh. That is fixed, along with several related problems.

Unread badges are accurate again. A defect in how read markers were looked up caused the entire unread count to fail for anyone who had messaged the same person across more than one workspace. When it failed, every badge in the app read zero, including channels. It now returns correct counts everywhere.

Counts recover on their own. Previously the unread count loaded once when the page opened and never updated again. If your connection dropped or your tab sat in the background, the number froze until you refreshed. Chat badges, the notification bell, and the conversation you have open now all refresh when you return to the tab or when the connection reconnects.

Messages appear without refreshing. Returning to a backgrounded tab now pulls in anything you missed in the conversation on screen, rather than leaving the message list stale behind an accurate badge.

Notification clicks work on Safari. Clicking a push notification could previously do nothing at all, only jumping to the message later when you happened to click elsewhere. Notification clicks now bring the tab forward immediately and refresh your counts on arrival.

New channels start clean. Joining a channel with a long history no longer counts every message ever posted as unread. Read markers are now created the moment you gain access to a channel rather than the first time you open it.

Messages stay read. Conversations can no longer be marked as read while your tab is in the background, so messages that arrive while you are away still show up as unread when you return.

We fixed an issue where new signups could see incomplete or duplicated starter tasks. Everyone now gets a clean, correctly assigned example project on their first login.

The shaded working hours on your Today and Calendar timelines now match your own schedule, including breaks, instead of a fixed default that did not reflect anyone's actual hours.

Managers now see a Team Pulse section on their Today page, showing each direct report's workload at a glance, whether they are off today, and if anyone is waiting on a review.

You can now set an Account Timezone in Settings so due dates and daily workload agree for everyone, no matter where each person is working from.

Clicking a person in Settings People now opens their full profile, including their team, reporting line, and availability, all in one panel.

The availability editor now shows which timezone your hours are set in, lets you copy a day's schedule to other days in one click, and calculates overnight shifts correctly.

Hovering over someone's name now shows quick actions to message them or open their profile, along with a clearer breakdown of their overdue, due today, and completed work.

Not everyone needs to see everything.

Shared workspaces just got more flexible. Any folder, sub-folder, or project can now be restricted to specific people.

Restrict a folder and everything inside it — sub-folders, projects, tasks, notes, goals — stays hidden from anyone who is not explicitly given access. It simply will not appear in their sidebar, search, or links. No confusing lock screens, no "access denied" messages.

Owners and admins always see everything, so nothing ever gets accidentally hidden from the people running the workspace. Restricting something is one click away from any folder or project, right in the same menu as rename and delete.

This makes it possible to bring on new team members — a sales hire, a contractor, a client — without giving them a window into every existing client or project. Give them exactly what they need to see, nothing more.

Managers now see a Team Pulse section on their Today page, showing each direct report's workload for the day at a glance, whether they are off today, and if anyone is waiting on a review.

Clicking a person in Settings People now opens their full profile, including their team, reporting line, and availability, all in one panel.

Workspace owners and admins can now record how each team member is compensated, whether hourly, salaried, per task, or on retainer, laying the groundwork for billable hours down the road.

Every match, no matter where it lives

Before, applying a filter to your task list only showed matching parent tasks. If a subtask was assigned to someone, due today, or marked high priority, it stayed hidden inside its parent's chevron even though the filter should have found it.

Now filters apply to your entire task graph. When you filter by "assigned to Athar", every task Athar owns appears in the list, subtasks included. Each subtask shows a small "Subtask" tag and its parent's name as breadcrumb context, so you always know where the work lives.

When no filters are active, the list behaves exactly as before: parent tasks at the top level, subtasks under the chevron expand. Nothing changes about your default view.

Direct message notifications

Previously, direct messages only notified you if someone @mentioned you. Now every DM you receive triggers a notification — in the bell, and as a browser push if you have that enabled. Clicking the notification takes you straight to the conversation.

Notification sound

When you are actively using Focyn, a subtle sound now plays when a new chat message arrives, so you never miss something while working in another tab within the app.

More reliable push notifications

Push notifications for different messages no longer replace each other silently. Each one now stacks separately, so a burst of messages will not cause you to miss earlier ones.

Review notifications

Approvals and rejections on task reviews now trigger a browser push notification if enabled, matching your notification preferences.

Stability fixes

Fixed an issue where chat could occasionally stop updating unread badges and messages until a manual refresh. Chat subscriptions are now simpler and more stable.

Change what you need without opening the task

Every visible field on a task row is now editable in place. No more clicking into a task just to change a due date or bump a priority.

Click any column directly and a small picker opens right there. Change the status, move the task to a different project or folder, update the estimate with natural language (2h, 30m, 1h30m all work), pick a new due date, set the priority, assign a teammate, or add a reviewer. Every change saves instantly and reverts cleanly if something goes wrong.

The same works on subtasks when you expand a parent task. Nothing behaves differently between a task and a subtask, because they aren't different.

When the subtasks change, the parent updates itself

Every parent task now shows the sum of its subtask estimates and the latest subtask due date. Automatically. No more updating the parent every time a subtask shifts.

Add a subtask with a 2-hour estimate to a parent that has three others. The parent's estimate updates. Change a subtask's due date to next week. The parent's due date matches. Delete a subtask. The parent recalculates.

Manual override is one edit away. If you want to set a parent estimate or due date that's different from the subtask sum, just edit it directly. Focyn locks that value and stops auto-syncing. A small reset icon appears if you ever want to go back to automatic.

Fewer buttons, clearer filters

The "My Tasks" and "Reviewing" toggles at the top of the task list were confusing new users. They looked like tabs but behaved like filters, and it wasn't always clear what was on and what was off.

Both are gone from the top row. The same functionality lives in the Filter popover where it belongs: "Assigned to me" sits at the top of the Assignee filter, and "For my review" is available in shared workspaces for anyone waiting on you to review something.

The toolbar is now just the four status tabs and Filter, Sort, Group. Cleaner to scan, less to explain.

You can now drag any task on your Today page onto your timeline to give it a time slot. Drop it again to move it, and it stays linked to its original due date.

Tasks in your overdue list and upcoming suggestions now open the full task page when you click the title, matching the rest of your task list.

The date picker for rescheduling overdue tasks now closes when you click elsewhere, instead of staying open until you pick a date.

Your working hours are now easier to see on the Today timeline, with visible hour lines and a clear highlight when you hover over an open slot.

The Today page got a full redesign. You will now see a clear briefing of your day, a spotlight on your next event or task, and a calmer way to handle overdue items without feeling overwhelmed.

Overdue tasks now collapse into a single summary. Expand it to move everything to today at once, or reschedule tasks one by one to today, tomorrow, or a specific date.

In team workspaces, your Today page now surfaces tasks where someone is waiting on your review, plus a quieter list of what is due for review later today.

New personal workspaces now start with a real example week instead of instructional cards, showing how tasks, notes, goals, and your calendar work together from the very first login.

Writing behaves the same way everywhere now. Enter sends your message or comment, Shift plus Enter starts a new line, and Enter continues a list when you are in one. Escape cancels an edit.

The send button also sits in the same place across chat and comments, appearing once you have something to send.

Comments gained the full editor. You can now link tasks and notes with [[, paste a screenshot directly into a comment, and use lists, checklists, and code blocks.

Chat messages now support the same formatting as the rest of Focyn. Send a bulleted list, share a code snippet, or link a task straight into the conversation.

Mentions, attachments, threads, and reactions all work exactly as before.

Task descriptions, notes, comments, and chat now share one writing experience. Format as you type, with no toolbar in your way.

Updating your name or other profile settings now saves as expected. Previously these changes could appear to save and then revert after a refresh. If a save ever does fail, you will now see a clear message instead of a silent revert.

Private channels are visible only to the people added to them. Workspace admins who are not members can no longer see a private channel in their list, read its messages, or find its content through search.

Admins keep the tools they need to run a workspace: they can still rename, delete, and manage membership of any channel. They just cannot read conversations they were not invited to.

When an upload fails, Focyn now tells you why and what to do about it, instead of failing quietly.

• If Google Drive needs reconnecting, you get a one-click Reconnect button
• If a file is over the size limit, you are told before the upload starts
• Connection problems and unexpected errors get clear, readable messages

Hover any reaction on a message or comment to see exactly who added it. Works across channels, direct messages, threads, and task and event comments.

Open an attachment and see it right where you are. No more round trips to Google Drive just to check what a file contains.

File sharing got a serious upgrade. You can now attach files up to 100 MB in chat and comments, including videos and large documents.

• Live upload progress while your file transfers

Browser push notifications

Focyn now supports browser push notifications - get notified about tasks, mentions, and messages even when Focyn is not open. Enable them in Settings → Notifications → Browser.

Per-workspace notification preferences

Notification preferences are now per workspace. Control exactly which events trigger email or browser notifications for each workspace you belong to. Personal workspaces show only relevant personal notifications - chat and team task events are hidden.

Notification email per workspace

For shared workspaces, you can now set a dedicated notification email address - separate from your Focyn login email. Connect it in Settings → Notifications → Email. Different workspaces can have different notification emails.

New notification triggers

Focyn now notifies you when:

• Someone comments on a task assigned to you

• A task status changes on something you own

• You are unassigned from a task

• A task is created and assigned to you directly from the task modal

• Someone accepts or declines your workspace invite

Smarter mention deduplication

If you are @mentioned in a comment on your own task, you now receive one notification instead of two.

When you are mentioned in a comment on an event, the notification now opens the right event and names it correctly. Previously these notifications could point to the wrong place.

The hover actions on comments now match chat for a consistent feel, and deleting a comment asks for confirmation first so you do not lose one by accident.

Task and event comments now work more like a real conversation.

• React to any comment with emoji
• Reply to a comment to start a thread, keeping related discussion together
• Replies support mentions, attachments, reactions, and editing just like top-level comments
• Thread participants are notified when someone replies

Editing a message no longer breaks it. Mentions and linked items now stay intact when you edit, and you can add or change them while editing just like when you first wrote the message.

Chat notifications now take you where you need to go. Clicking a mention, an @everyone, or a thread-reply notification opens the chat panel directly to that channel or thread, so you can respond without hunting for the message.

Chat is easier to follow when catching up on history. Messages are now grouped under date headers like Today, Yesterday, and July 8, 2026, and each message shows the exact time it was sent instead of a relative label like "1 hour ago".

Paste a link and it just works. URLs are now automatically recognized and clickable across the app.

Events synced from Google now carry the color of the calendar they came from, so you can tell at a glance whether something is work, personal, or family.

Events you create in Focyn stay neutral, so the color tells you where an event lives.

All-day events synced from Google were showing up one day early. They now appear on the correct date.

This also fixes all-day events for teams working across time zones: an all-day event now shows on the same day for everyone, no matter where it was created or who is looking at it.

You can now drag tasks onto the calendar to plan when you will work on them.

• Drag to schedule. Drag a task from the all-day strip into any time slot. The block is sized by the task's time estimate.

• Drag to reschedule. Move a scheduled block to a different slot or day, or drag it back to the all-day strip to unplan it.

• Plans and deadlines stay separate. Moving a block never changes the due date. The calendar shows when you plan to work; the deadline stays on the task.

Hovering the grid now highlights the exact 30-minute slot under your cursor, and clicking a slot creates an event at that time.

Connect your Google Calendar and see your whole day in Focyn.

• Your Google events, alongside everything else. Once connected, events from your visible Google calendars appear on your Focyn calendar automatically.

• Private to you. Your Google events are yours alone. Teammates can never see them.

• Always current. Events sync when you open the calendar, and events deleted in Google disappear from Focyn.

Connect from Settings, then choose which calendars to show.

See what your whole team is working on.

• Filter by person. A new filter shows everyone's events and tasks, just your own, or any teammate's. It remembers your choice.

• See who is in each meeting. Events now show participant avatars at a glance.

• Busy days stay readable. Days with many items show a few and a "+N more" link that opens the full list.

• Complete and accurate. Filtering to a person shows everything on their plate, whether they are the assignee, reviewer, organizer, or participant.

The full invite experience has arrived.

• Create events properly. A new event modal lets you set the title, time, and participants in one step, from the calendar, Today, or the sidebar.

• Accept or decline. Invitees get a notification with the event name and can respond right from the event page. Organizers are notified when someone responds.

• Everything on the record. The event activity feed now shows who created it, who was added, and who accepted or declined.

Three fixes to file uploads and previews based on your reports.

• No more size limit. Files now upload directly from your browser to Google Drive, removing the previous upload size ceiling. Attach design files, recordings, whatever the work needs.

• Multiple files at once. Select as many files as you want in one go. They upload one after another with clear progress, and one failed file never blocks the rest.

• Previews that fit. Clicking an image attachment now shows the whole image scaled to fit, instead of a zoomed-in crop. PDFs preview cleanly too.

• Files land where they belong. Uploads on tasks under nested folders and projects now mirror your full Focyn hierarchy inside your default Drive location.

Your workspace now has one Google Drive home for everything. Set a default location once and every file uploaded to a task, note, or goal lands there automatically, organized by type. Folders and projects can still override it for client-specific drives, and the hierarchy follows.

What is new:

• Workspace default location. Pick any folder in My Drive or a Shared Drive as the default home for all workspace files. Set it from Settings, Integrations, Google Drive, Manage.

• Notes and goals included. File uploads on notes and goals now follow the same routing as tasks: project mapping first, then folder, then the workspace default.

• Chat files, your way. Choose a dedicated Drive folder for files shared in channels and direct messages, or let them flow into the default under a Chat folder, organized by channel.

• Self-healing uploads. If a mapped Drive folder gets deleted or access is revoked, uploads automatically fall back to the workspace default instead of failing. You will see a warning on the affected folder or project so you can fix the mapping.

• Always know where files go. Every task, note, and goal shows its Drive destination right in the Attachments header.

The Google Drive panel now opens automatically after you connect, so setting your default takes seconds.

Events are now first-class objects in Focyn, rebuilt from the ground up.

• Shared by design. When you add participants to an event, they see it on their calendar immediately. No more invisible invites.

• Connected like everything else. Events now link to your projects, notes, and goals, show up in search and backlinks, and work with time tracking.

• No Google required. The calendar works fully on its own. Create and manage events natively in Focyn.

We fixed a stubborn issue where unread badges could reappear after a page refresh for messages you had already read. Read states now persist correctly across channels, direct messages, and threads. Mention and thread-reply notifications are also more reliable.

Approve or reject, and the clock stops

When you started reviewing a task, your timer would start automatically. But when you finished the review by approving or rejecting the work, the timer kept running silently in the background.

The assignee's timer already stopped when they moved the task to review. The reviewer's timer should behave the same way when the review is done. Now it does.

Approve or reject a task, and your review timer stops immediately with the correct duration recorded.

One thing at a time, always

You can only be working on one thing at any given moment. Your timers should reflect that.

Before, starting an event timer while a task timer was already running would leave both running at the same time. The task timer would keep silently accruing time in the background while your event timer was the one you actually saw. Confusing at best, wrong at worst.

Now, starting any timer automatically stops any other timer you have running. Task to task, task to event, event to task, event to event, it does not matter. The moment you start something new, the previous timer closes cleanly with the correct duration recorded.

Your timer follows you, not the other way around

The dynamic island had a bug that could make it look like your task had jumped between workspaces when you were switching around.

Before, the island read the current workspace from the URL to build its label and its "Open task" link. So if you started a timer on a task in Focyn workspace and then switched to Personal, the island would say "in Personal", and clicking "Open task" would open the task at a Personal-workspace URL. In some cases it could even cause the timer to be re-stamped with the wrong workspace on the next interaction.

Now the island reads the workspace directly from the timer itself. The label always reflects where the timer actually lives. The "Open task" link always goes to the correct workspace. Switching workspaces never changes what your timer shows or where it belongs.

What happens in one workspace, stays in that workspace

When you hover over a teammate's name in an activity feed, Focyn shows a small card with what they're working on, their in-progress and due-today counts, and when they were last active.

Two subtle privacy issues were quietly leaking data across workspaces: the "last active" timestamp was computed globally, so it could reflect activity in a workspace you don't share with the person. And the check for who could see this data only verified the viewer, not the target, meaning a crafted request could probe any user's last-active timestamp.

Both are now fixed. Everything shown in the popover is strictly scoped to the workspace you're viewing. Someone else's activity in their personal workspace, or in a workspace you don't share, stays private.

Mention @everyone or @channel in a message to notify all members of that channel at once. Individual @mentions still work as before, and nobody gets double-notified.

Share files directly in channels, direct messages, and threads.

• Attach images and files from the message composer, or send a file with no text at all
• Images preview inline; other files show as tidy chips with one-click preview
• Files are stored in your workspace Google Drive, organized into folders per channel and per conversation
• Admins can route all chat files to a specific Shared Drive from Settings

Conversations in channels can now branch into threads. Reply to any message to keep discussions organized without flooding the main channel.

• Open a thread from any message and reply in a focused view
• Reply counts and the latest activity show under the original message
• Reactions, mentions, attachments, and editing all work inside threads
• Thread participants get notified when someone replies, and unread replies are tracked separately from the channel badge

Find anything in your workspace without hunting for it.

Press Command K or Control K, or click the search icon in the top bar, to open a search palette. Start typing to jump straight to a task, note, goal, project, folder, or event.

Results appear as you type, and you can move through them with the arrow keys and open one with Enter.

A redesigned channel settings panel puts everything in one place.

• Rename a channel or update its description anytime
• Switch a channel between public and private

Channels now have real membership. Create public channels anyone in the workspace can join, or private channels visible only to the people you add.

Channels and direct messages

Create public or private channels for topics and teams, or send a direct message to anyone in the workspace. Unread counts keep track of what you have missed.

Threads, reactions, and mentions

Reply in a thread to keep a topic tidy, react with an emoji, and mention a teammate to notify them. You can mention a whole channel when something needs everyone.

Files and links

Attach files, which are stored in your workspace Google Drive, and link any task, note, or goal directly into a message with the double-bracket menu.

The editor behind notes, tasks, and goals has grown up.

Select any text to bring up a floating toolbar for bold, italic, underline, headings, and links. Type a slash on a new line to insert headings, lists, checklists, tables, a divider, code, or an image.

You can also drag and drop or paste an image straight into the page when Google Drive is connected. Markdown shortcuts still work as you type.

Google Drive support now works the way teams actually store files.

Connect a Shared Drive, not just My Drive, and choose exactly which Drive folder a Focyn folder or project should map to. Files you attach then land in the right place automatically, following your folder structure.

Mappings are inherited down the hierarchy, so setting one at the top keeps everything below it organized without extra work.

A small pill now floats at the top of the app to show you what is running right now.

When you are tracking time on a task or event, it shows a live timer you can stop or open from anywhere. When you are uploading a file, it shows the progress and confirms when the upload is done.

It stays out of the way when nothing is happening, and expands with a click when you want the details.

Calendar events are now first-class pages in Focyn, just like tasks and notes.

Open any event to see and edit its title, description, location, and dates, with changes syncing back to Google Calendar. Add a priority, set an organizer and attendees from your workspace, and track time against the event.

Events can be linked with the double-bracket menu, appear in search, and carry their own activity feed, so a meeting can sit alongside the work it relates to.

We shipped a lot this week. Here's what's new.

Task review workflow

Tasks now support a full review cycle. Assign a reviewer to any task and the workflow kicks in automatically. When the assignee is ready, they request a review - the reviewer gets notified, reviews the work, and approves or rejects it. Approved tasks unlock the Done status for the assignee. Rejected tasks go back for another round. Every cycle is logged in the review history on the task detail page.

Review badges and filters

Tasks show their review state everywhere - on the task detail page, on the task list, and in the activity feed. Filter your task list by review state to see what's waiting for your approval or what's been rejected.

Multiple Google Calendars

Connect your Google account and all your calendars sync to Focyn automatically. Toggle visibility per calendar from Settings. Events from each calendar show with their Google color coding on the Calendar page and Today timeline.

Projects list page

Projects now have their own list page, accessible directly from the sidebar. See all your projects across folders in one place with status, due date, and folder context.

First time in Focyn? The Today page now guides you through your first steps instead of showing an empty screen.

Track what's holding your work back

Tasks can now depend on each other. When a task is waiting on another to finish first, mark it as Blocked by. When your task is holding up someone else's work, it shows under Blocking.

Dependencies live on the task detail page in a clean, minimal section that only appears when needed. Hover to reveal the + Add button, which opens a searchable popover with two tabs, Blocked by and Blocking, so you can link tasks in either direction without leaving the page.

When you try to mark a blocked task as Done, Focyn gives you a soft warning: "X blocking tasks aren't finished yet. Mark as done anyway?" That way, nothing slips through accidentally.

Know exactly where your time goes

Every task now has a built-in timer. Start it when you begin working, pause it when you break, and stop it when you're done. Time is tracked to the second. No more rounding to the nearest minute.

The timer auto-starts when you move a task to In Progress and auto-stops when you mark it Done. You can also manually start and stop it from the task detail page or the task list.

In shared workspaces, time is tracked per person. The Properties card shows the assignee's time and the reviewer's time separately, never summed together, always attributed correctly. Previous contributors' time is preserved in an expandable history section when a task is reassigned.

Find exactly what you need, instantly

The task list is now a proper work surface. New controls sit above the list so you can slice and dice your tasks without leaving the page.

My Tasks: In shared workspaces, toggle My Tasks to instantly filter to only the tasks assigned to you. It sits first in the toolbar so it's always one click away.

Filter: Filter by assignee, priority, and due date range. Active filters show as a count on the button. Clear all filters in one click.

Sort: Sort by created date, due date, or priority. Your sort preference is saved per workspace.

Group by: Group tasks by priority, assignee, or project. Groups show a section header with a count.

All filters and grouping apply to both list and board views. The board view now respects My Tasks and the filter popover, so what you see in the list matches what you see on the board.

Work together without stepping on each other

Focyn properly supports collaborative workspaces. Tasks, notes, and goals created by any workspace member are visible to all other accepted members. No more tasks disappearing because someone else created them.

Permissions are clear and consistent: you can view and edit anyone's work, but you can only delete your own. If you try to delete something you don't own, you'll see a clear message instead of a confusing redirect.

Workspace member names and profile photos now appear correctly throughout the app, in activity feeds, comments, assignee fields, and member lists. No more "Someone" in your activity history.

Duplicate any task with full control

Need to create a similar task? Duplicate it. Open the ··· menu on any task detail page and choose Duplicate task.

A quick modal lets you choose exactly what carries over: description, priority, assignee, due date, estimate, subtasks, dependencies, and comments. Title always copies (with " (Copy)" appended). Status always resets to Open. Time tracking always starts fresh.

Your duplication preferences are remembered, so the next time you duplicate a task your last choices are pre-selected.
